ERF Q&A 017: How To Mix Fat Loss & Workout Performance

It seems that it is either one or the other. Fat loss or workout performance.

Or it seems that workout performance gets thrown under the rug when fat loss is in the mix.

I’m here to tell you you can have both. They can be married as one. It just has to be a marriage that is planned out and taken care of well.

You CAN still have really good workouts when in a calorie deficit. You don’t HAVE to lose energy lose strength and have your workouts suffer.

Because at the end of the day, the workouts are going to change your body. You provide a stimulus to your body to adapt to.

If you can still keep up the intensity, keep providing a stimulus enough so your body needs to adapt to it.

Not only will you see fat loss, but you will see muscle gain, strength gain, better endurance, to name a few.

They are both important, and this podcasts labels out how you can create a healthy loving marriage.

ERF Q&A 011: How To Perform Better During Your Workouts

While a lot of the goals these days are focused around losing fat, and that is great, I think the goal of having bomb ass workouts gets left behind.

And there is no reason to say you can’t do both.

This Q&A is a bit of a switch up from the normal fat loss advice, though it can help with that too.

I go over immediately actionable tips you can take with you and implement TODAY to help your workout performance in the gym.

Workout performance is important because without it, you cannot keep having better workouts.

And without that, you won’t be having an adequate stimulus to your body to promote change.

And without change, you will stay the same, and that is no fun.

Check out the podcast, let me know if you take any of the tips with you, and as always please SHARE with someone who could use the tips.

Thanks all. -E.

ERF 013: Train For Performance, Diet For Fat Loss

What makes up how many calories you burn?

What goes into creating a caloric deficit and losing fat?

The mainstream fitness media has done a, for lack of better terms, shitty job of portraying that a CALORIE BURN!, is the best thing for working out.

Working out should be the LAST thing on your mind when it comes to fat loss.

Notice how I said for FAT LOSS, not building an aesthetic, healthy, functional, body.

When you workout, it should be for performance.

IE getting stronger, getting more endurance, feeling more confident with movement patterns.

Let your diet take care of the fat loss, because as you will find out after listening to this, the exercise makes up the least amount when it comes to fat loss.

Please, if you liked this episode, share this with someone.

A lot of people need to hear this, and you can help me make that happen.

ERF 010: Tracking Calories Will Always Lead To Results

Tracking what you do is always going to lead to better results, period.

If you track your weights and consistently increase them, you will get stronger and or bigger muscles.

If you track how much your kid is playing baseball, the more hours they practice, the better they get.

And certainly when you track your m&m’s, you’ll see you’re eating too many calories causing you not to lose weight.

This podcast goes over the utter importance of tracking calories/macros, ways to start, and what it can do for your fitness goals.

I know I harp on this a lot… but I believe it is important.

I have people ask me all the time what to do about nutrition… and I say track calories.

Some people are like yeah yeah but what foods should I eat? Do I have to cut out bread? Just tell me what to do.

While that is nice and all, that is not how it works in real life.

No quick fixes, no broad fix for every person. Track what you eat, get the data and results, and adjust when necessary.

Give it a listen and let me know what you think!

If you want/need help with YOUR plan, reach out to me and let me know. Would be happy to help.

ERF Q&A 006: Should You Be Sore After Your Workouts?

This is a question I have heard throughout gyms since I started working out.

Heard some people say if you aren’t sore after you workout, you aren’t working hard enough!

Heard if your muscles don’t ache for days, then you aren’t pushing and your body is not changing!

This could not be farther from the truth.

Can you have an effective workout and be sore? Yep.

Can you have an even more effective workout and not be sore? Absolutely.

Some people believe if they aren’t getting or stopped getting sore, then they need to change up their routine and find something new.

Again, couldn’t be farther from the truth.

Give this podcast a listen to learn about what soreness comes from, what factors influence it, why it is arbitrary in achieving your fitness goals, and what you should be tracking instead of how sore you are.

This podcast was made available by one of you guys who reached out to me and asked me this question.

I thrive off questions and love answering them! So please reach out to me via dm, email, text, wherever, and ask away! Your question could end up on the podcast!

Thank you all so much,

-E.
